TYPES OF MUSIC IN INDIA


Music in its way is a thing of beauty so much so that almost every country has their own style of music, even our country which is so very diverse in its culture and traditions so much so that all the 29 states in India have a unique type of music which they produce, which such excellence.


Our Country is obviously known for its customs rituals has always been known to produce music of the highest quality right from the early ages itself. We have been known to produce one of the most iconic artists in music, which the world has ever seen.


Now with time and also observing the way people listened to music and also with the influence of the western music being so high. We have also successfully created quite a few types of music for different categories of people depending upon their taste in music.


There are many types of music which our country has produced some and most of them have been known to go mainstream due to the popularity it gained within very less time. I’m sure most of you have listened to at least some of these types. 








  1. Classical Music: Classical music is one of the oldest types of music which we have witnessed it gains it’s origins in the early ages from the vedic period where some of these scriptures were sung instead of reciting them.


As time passed and with the influence of other countries coming from the south east Asian continents, a new type of music was created! This was called the Hindustani Music this paved a way too many artistic milestones, this particular type of music had different versions in every state. Each state made such good music that it made the other state try to better its predecessor, this further paved to create more types of music which were an adaptation of the previous type. Such started a pathway to create new artistic horizons.

   

  1. 2) Filmy Music: More than 50% of the population from the country listen to this type of music because this particular type has gone mainstream form many years,


Probably because of this authentic nature and how it is used in the films particularly during the intense moments the bgms the romantic numbers etc. 


Mainstream music of filmy music occupies almost half of the charts on all streaming platforms, given its ability to go extremely viral.
